SHAREit is a file transfer application that enables users to send files between devices running different operating systems. The app works across Android, iOS (including iPad), and Windows, allowing content to move seamlessly between smartphones, tablets, and computers.

The application transfers files directly between devices without requiring WiFi or cellular data. Transfers reach speeds of up to 20 megabytes per second with no file size restrictions. Both devices must have SHAREit installed to establish and complete the connection.

SHAREit supports a broad range of file types, including photos, videos, audio files, address books, and individual applications. Multi-file capabilities enable batch operations, allowing users to select and transfer multiple items simultaneously without repeating the process for each file.

The application includes a group-sharing feature that allows users to distribute content to multiple recipients simultaneously, eliminating the need to repeat the transfer process for each individual. This capability streamlines workflows where content needs to reach multiple users across different platforms.

Beyond file transfer, SHAREit offers additional features. Users can control PowerPoint presentations from a mobile device, converting the phone into a remote control for slideshows running on a connected computer. This functionality is useful for presentations where the presenter operates at a distance or prefers not to use a traditional remote.

The application includes backup functionality for users switching phones. Users can back up contacts, messages, and installed applications from an old device to a new one, simplifying data migration when upgrading or replacing a phone. This is particularly valuable when the new device runs a different operating system.

For users with multiple devices across different platforms, SHAREit provides a unified transfer method without requiring cloud storage services or complex workarounds. Data migration is possible even when switching between fundamentally different ecosystems—such as from Android to iPhone or Windows Phone.
