Quran Majeed is a comprehensive Islamic mobile application designed for reading, studying, and engaging with the Quran, providing the complete text alongside supplementary features for prayer, study, and religious practice.
The Quran text is available in three script formats—Uthmanic, Mushaf, and Indo-Pak—allowing users to read in their preferred style. The text has been proofread by an Islamic scholar to ensure accuracy. The app includes recordings from fifteen renowned Quran reciters, allowing users to listen while following the text, including Sheikh Abdul Basit, Sheikh As Sudays, Sheikh As Shraym, Mishari Rashid, Saad Al Ghamdi, Abu Bakr Shatry, Sheikh Ahmed Ajmi, Sheikh Al-Huzaifi, Sheikh Mahir-al-Muayqali, Sheikh Minshawi, Sheikh Ayub, Khalil Husari, Mahmood AlBana, Salah Bukhatir, and Sheikh Basfar.
Multiple translation options are available, including four English translations—Pickthal, Dr. Mohsin, Mahmood, and Yusuf Ali—alongside 45 translations in other languages such as French, German, Spanish, Russian, Urdu, Hindi, Indonesian, Bengali, Turkish, Persian, and others. Each translation displays alongside the full Arabic text, and users can adjust font size through pinch and zoom gestures. English transliteration is available for pronunciation guidance, with audio accompanying select translations in English and Urdu alongside the Quran recitations.
The app includes detailed Islamic commentary through Arabic Tafsir from three sources: Ibne Kathir, Jalalayn, and Saadi, enabling users to study deeper interpretations of Quranic verses. A word search function enables users to locate specific words or phrases within the Quran text.
A prayer times module calculates prayer schedules using multiple calculation methods, with an Athan alarm configurable to sound at prayer times. During Ramadan, the app displays Sehar and Iftar times for fasting practitioners. A Qibla compass determines the direction of prayer toward Mecca, and a Hijri Calendar tracks Islamic calendar dates alongside the Gregorian calendar.
The app provides an Allah Names feature with audio pronunciations and detailed information about the divine names for additional religious reference. A locator function helps users find nearby Masjids and Halal food establishments. Live streaming provides access to the holy mosques in Makkah and Medinah.
Audio playback allows verse repetition with customizable repetition counts, intervals between repetitions, and adjustable playback speed. Background audio continues playing while the device is in standby mode, and verses are highlighted on screen during recitation to help users follow along with the text visually.
A Hifz feature supports memorization through voice recording functionality, enabling users to record their own recitations for practice and review. An engagement meter tracks Quran interaction over time, while tips and visual Quran features provide additional learning tools. A Quran TV feature offers video content related to Quranic studies and religious education.
Users can bookmark specific Quranic verses to create personal collections for study or reflection. The app features six interface themes—Green, Blue, Classic-Green, Night Mode, Light, and Brown—allowing visual presentation to be customized based on individual preference and surrounding lighting conditions. Users who prefer reading on their device late in the evening can select Night Mode, while those who read primarily in bright conditions might choose the Light theme.
